International Performance Assessment Coalition (IPAC) 2006

The annual scientific meeting held by the International Performance
Assessment Coalition (IPAC)

Collaborative organisers: Drs Tiina Kaigas, Alison Reid and Ian St George
For individuals working with physician performance assessment programs for practising physicians. Agenda includes case reports, workshop on remediation and scientific papers

4.00 - 6.00pm  IAMRA Examination Committee meeting - members only

Face to face meeting of committee members to be followed by a meal.


 
Saturday 11 November

9.30 - 12.30pm  Developing a CME/CPD Community of Practice

Continuing Medical Education (CME) in support of the continuing professional development (CPD) of physicians.

This session will be a facilitated discussion between participants comparing and contrasting their systems and identifying potential collaborations between participants (ie, developing a community of practice). It will lay the foundation for collaborations and interactions that will go on after Wellington 2006 and could be the basis for regional interactions in the years that follow.
Content: This will start with a short presentation on international experiences designed to lay out the diversity of our systems. The discussion to follow in plenary and small groups will focus on identifying 'lessons learned' during our development efforts, the challenges arising from our experiences, and the responses we have developed to address these challenges…which we hope will help us identify opportunities for future interactions. 9.30 - 12.30pm  Visit to the Medical Council of New Zealand for a brief overview of medical regulation in New Zealand.

A session held at the Medical Council to inform on the New Zealand perspective of regulation under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 addressed by the Chair of the Medical Council of New Zealand, the Chair of the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal, the CEO of the Accident Compensation Corporation and the Health and Disability Commissioner
