Weather
September to November is New Zealand’s spring months.
New Zealand’s spring weather can range from cold and frosty to warm and hot.   Wellington temperatures range from a high of 15°C (59°F) to a low 9°C (48°F). Dress is informal and relaxed on most occasions. Smart casual clothes are acceptable at most restaurants and night-spots.  We would recommend you pack some warm garments and layer your clothing.

For an update on New Zealand weather please visit the Metservice website at http://www.metservice.co.nz/default/index.php

Airport Transfers
Please arrange your own transport from the airport.

Taxi:
A fare from the airport to the Duxton Hotel or Wellington Convention Centre is approximately NZ$35.00 one way.
Taxi ranks can be found directly outside the baggage claim area on level 0 of the main terminal. There are two taxi ranks, one being a dedicated lane for and the other for all other taxi operators. Taxi operators require a special licence to operate from Wellington Airport, you can select any taxi from either rank.

If you would like to pre book a taxi we recommend Corporate Cabs who will meet you at the luggage claim area with a sign board with your name on it. Their contact details are:

Bus:
The Stagecoach Flyer operates directly to and from the airport. It runs between Upper Hutt, through Wellington City to the airport and will stop at any bus stop with an orange “flyer” sign on it throughout the route. The bus is easy to spot – being bright orange, and its outbound journey begins on the ground floor at the southern end of the terminal. The Flyer runs from the airport every half an hour from 7.20am to 8.20pm Monday – Friday; and every hour or half an hour from 7.50am to 8.50pm during the weekends and on public holidays. The cost is between NZ$3.00 and NZ$8.00 for an adult fare, depending on how far you are going.

Shuttle:
There are multiple shuttle companies operating form the airport premises. Fares for one passenger will range from NZ$12.00 to NZ$14.00, with NZ$5.00 for an additional passenger. Please ask the company you are travel with for an exact fare. They are all based on a one-way fare from the airport. Please note that you need to state explicitly that you are travelling together if you wish for members of your group to be charged at the 'additional passenger' rate.

Insurance
Delegates are advised to book comprehensive travel and medical insurance and ensure that all possessions are adequately insured for the period of the conference.  The policy should include loss of fees/deposits through cancellation of your participation in the conference.  The conference managers will not accept any responsibility for any delegate failing to arrange their own insurance.

Tipping In New Zealand
Tipping is not standard practice in New Zealand, with gratuities generally included in the price of services. However, tipping is becoming more common for exceptional service, in which case either 5 to 10 percent of the total cost or a value based on your level of appreciation is acceptable. While appreciated, withholding a tip will not be considered an affront to service people.
